Dispatch gehört zu den renommiertesten Vinylschmieden der internationalen Szene und setzte mit über 50 Releases immer wieder neue Maßstäbe. Deshalb freuen wir uns besonders den Labelboss “ANT TC 1″ und seine talentiertesten Schützlinge “OCTANE & DLR” hinter den Turntables begrüßen zu dürfen.

From 1996 and onwards to 1998 ‘Dispatch’ formed a series of tracks from the Hidden Agenda brothers (3 in total) that appeared on Goldie’s Metalheadz imprint. Then following the series came ‘Dispatch’ the label in 2001 with the first release (Dispatch no. 4) being from the Hidden Agenda brothers themselves under their solo ‘Nos’ & ‘Max Fresh’ titles with the tracks “New Day / Quiet Day”. Since then the label has gone on to release music from the likes of Stress Level & TC1, AI, Raf & Ill Logic, Tactile, Qproject, Zero T, Survival, Duo Infernale, Atlantic Connection, Chris.SU & Break with the odd remix here and there from the likes of Polar, XRS, Craggz and Parallel Forces and Commix. To date releases on the label have been well supported throughout the scene from the likes of Klute, Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Flight, Fabio, Teebee, Goldie, High Contrast, Brian G, Marky, Grooverider, Lomax, Fierce, DBridge etc. The label is managed and owned by Ant TC1 with distribution from ST Holdings.

Deep Contact ist ein Projekt vieler drum&bass DJs aus ganz Bayern, welches sich nun schon ein Jahr um die musikalische Untermalung der gleichnamigen Party im Backstage in München kümmert. Die Jungs scheuen keine Kosten und Mühen um euch monatlich mit internationalen, abwechslungsreichen und noch nie dagewesenen Künstlern aus der Crème de la Crème der Drum and Bass Szene die Kinnlade zu öffnen!
Die Highlights 2011 waren bisher Gäste wie Aphrodite (urban takeover), Friction (shogun audio), TeeBee (subtitles), Phace (neosignal), S.P.Y (metalheadz) The Green Man (basswerk) oder Icicle (shogun audio)!

An den Erfolg dieser Parties soll gefeiert werden und so kommt am 16ten schon der nächste UK-Star nach München.
Die Rede ist von ALIX PEREZ! Seit Jahren befindet sich der gebürtige Belgier mit Soloproduktionen oder Collaborations mit Foreign Beggars oder Icicle in den drum&bass Top10 und spielt LiveSets, welche ihres Gleichen suchen. Für viele ist er momentan DER drum&bass-Produzent was er nicht zuletzt 2010 mit “1984″ bewies.

Belgian born Alix Depauw is the face behind production moniker Alix Perez, now regarded as one of the most ground-breaking and innovative producer-DJ’s of his generation. Little time after his debut release, Alix saw himself catapulted to the forefront of the drum and bass scene with an ever growing reputation and sought after catalogue of music.

With a history of critically acclaimed releases on legendary labels such as Metalheadz, V Recordings and Soul:R, Alix went on to sign exclusively to Friction’s very own imprint, Shogun Audio, the home of his remarkable debut album ‘1984.’ Straying from the traditional confines of Drum and Bass, ‘1984’ went on to be one of the most highly anticipated and rated electronica albums of 2009, gaining extraordinary reviews and extensive support globally. With collaborations ranging from Peven Everett to Foreign Beggars, ‘1984’s stature is further cemented with chart topping positions and rare reviews in publications such as the Metro, Mixmag and more.

Perhaps initially known best for sophisticated, soulful productions, Alix retains influences from funk, soul and hip-hop. Since his outstanding debut LP on Shogun Audio in ‘09, 2010 brought with it further successes, including a storming Australasian tour and collaborations with technical gods of the highest order including Noisia, Foreign Beggars and Icicle, alongside the release of his ‘Dark Days’ EP. Alix demonstrates striking musical versatility in both drum & bass and other genres, and is unanimously one of the most talented artists in the game.

Wegweisender Drum & Bass aus Deutschland? Haufenweise unvergessliche Drum & Bass Parties in München? Das ist Jahre her?

Aber die Zeiten kommen wieder. Kaum einen freien Tag lässt der dnb-Kalender im Oktober 2010. BTK kommt in die Kranhalle, Bass Tikal spielt bald bei soul:labs, Chase & Status feiern in der Muffathalle und PHACE lässt sich endlich bei Deep Contact im Backstage blicken.
Und PHACE ist auch der Grund, warum Drum & Bass aus Deutschland wegweisend geworden ist. Seit ein paar Jahren nun veröffentlichen MISANTHROP und PHACE auf ihrem eigenen Label NEOSIGNAL Musik der obersten Liga.

In 2009, S.P.Y has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting producers and DJs in drum & bass. With a range of productions across top labels, he’s released on Innerground, Metalheadz, Soul:r and more demonstrating both quality and consistency. A talented new artist and highly-skilled producer, S.P.Y has already proved himself in the studio working alongside the likes of DJ Marky, Marcus Intalex and Total Science. Crisp, clean breaks rolling over deep basslines are his stock-in-trade and a busy DJ schedule has seen appearances across world everywhere from Australia to his native Brazil.
Since moving to London from Sao Paolo 7 years ago, Carlos Lima aka S.P.Y hasn’t looked back. Initially drawn to the city for it’s music and culture, S.P.Y soon settled in amongst the vibrant drum & bass scene. With a background in DJing stretching back to the age of 12, his skills behind the turntables were already in place and he set out to make his mark as a producer. A natural talent for music production certainly helped and, after just six months of learning on basic equipment, he signed his first ever release to Metalheadz in 2005.
In 2006, he quickly followed up with ‘Black Flag b/w Double Dragon’ for new label Med School and helped set the standard for Hospital’s alternative, more experimental imprint. Developing his own brand of original yet dancefloor-friendly beats, S.P.Y stepped up his game with a further single (‘Ghost Ship b/w Silent Sleeper’) before moving on to release on diverse labels including Critical and Samurai.
More collaborations included tracks alongside Total Science and DJ Marky and he’s established regular partnerships with both. To top it all off, S.P.Y also managed a return to Metalheadz with Goldie favourite ‘Moon Patrol’ as well as debuts for 31 Records, Innerground and Liquid V.

Spätestens nach dem Erscheinen seines Albums “Under the Ice” bei Shogun Audio hat sich “Icicle” aka “The Iceman” seinen Platz ganz oben in der drum&bass Welt gesichert. Seine Nummern, allen voran “The Dreadnaught”, werden bei den angesagtesten Radiosendern in der Szene rauf und runtergespielt denn sein minimaler Tech Funk brachte ihm in kurzer Zeit Unterstützung von Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Fabio, London Elektricity, Pendulum, Andy C, Friction, D-Bridge, Flight, Noisia, Commix und vielen anderen. Kurz gesagt: Er gehört zu den Größten!

Mit acht Jahren fängt er an, Klavier und Schlagzeug zu spielen und produziert bald seine ersten Beats mit einem einfachen MIDI-Setup. Mit 15 Jahren begeistert sich Jeroen für Drum’n’bass, besorgt sich Turntables und Software zum Produzieren und nennt sich ab sofort Icicle. Inspirieren lässt er sich durch den Sound von Jonny L, Optical, Photek und Source Direct. Innerhalb der letzten drei Jahre hat sich Icicle einen beneidenswerten Katalog an Releases aufgebaut und gehört damit zur jüngsten Generation internationaler Drum’n’Bass-Künstler.

Seine Shows im Zuge des Albumreleases führten ihn bereits 2011 in Clubs an allen Ecken der Erde, wo er überall aufgrund seines kristallklaren Sounds einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen konnte. Im Gedächtnis festgefressen hat sich auch ber der Münchener Crew “Deep Contact” welche ihn nun am 10. Juni nach München ins Backstage lotsen wird.

Shroombab, founder of the Junglistic Sistaz network, is a fixed “institution” of Austrias drum&bass-scene. She was born in Upper Austria and moved to Vienna in 1997 – where she started to change her instruments from flute & guitar to turntables & sequencers. Successfully: Gigs in over 28 countries of the world and several record releases on quality labels followed.

Shroombabs efforts to create her own music and get perfect at spinning records were strong. But not enough, she combined creativity with her talent to organize things: She set up her own Drum’n’Bass nights called “Bass Land” (with MC Terra), her own label “High Tension Recordings” (with Polarity) and founded the “Junglistic Sistaz” – a database for women in drum&bass, which got a quality reference for female DJs especially in Eastern Europe.

2011 – 13 years after her start – she still delivers the same quality as ever. Watch out for uplifting, spooky and movin’ DJ-Sets and strong tunes besides genre-boarders.

At some point Drum&Bass was not enough anymore and she got infected by the rhytms of BREAKZ and DUBSTEP as well. In 2005 Shroombab started to play dirty breakz with electro influence as well under her nick “REMODEL”. In 2007 she also got into filthy dubstep. After a Bounce-Party with DJ Chef in Vienna she got totally hooked on the huge basslines, that originally brought her to drum&bass. A few month later, her first dubstep tune ever got signed two hours after finishing it – by the well-respected DUBKRAFT label from Romania. More things to follow!

After five years of “winter sleep”, 2008 Shroombab decided to bring her label High Tension back. In 2010 she released her first album SPLENDID!

DJ Hoppa started out in London with a residency for Rollercoaster – then in wkd, Camden Town. After moving to Leeds, Hoppa cofounded the “Cental Beatz” collective in Leeds together with LD50 (Lethal Dose), Ruckspin and DLR. Central Beatz rents out soundsystem and hosts a regular Drum and Bass event in Leeds focussing on a wide spectrum of the music, not the mainstream. After doing the rounds in houseparties and club nights throughout the city as well as playing on Leeds Student Radio (LSRFM), Frequency FM and winning the Frequency FM DJ competition, Hoppa moved to Munich to continue studying and meanwhile develop his skills as a producer.

DJ Hoppa is a known lover of dancefloor, jump up tracks but always plays a wide variety of music in each set, with a lot of thought put into the structure of the mix – normally packed with double drops, fastmixing, and beat juggling.

Nachdem wir schon 2 internationale Label-owner bei uns zu Gast hatten, darf auch der deutsche Klassiker aus dieser Reihe nicht fehlen! Wir freuen uns, “The Green Man” ankündigen zu dürfen:

Heiner Kruse a.k.a The Green Man a.k.a TGM ist ein Breakbeat-Pionier und Gründer des Basswerk Labels aus Köln, das mehrfach zum besten Deutschen Drum & Bass Label gewählt wurde und eines der ersten dieser Art überhaupt war. Hier hört sich Drum & Bass immer wieder neu und spannend an, wird das Potenzial des Genres immer wieder ausgereizt.

Mit Klassikern wie “Infinity”, “Easy”, “Illegal” und “Hardcore Junglist” hat Green Man immer wieder Fans aus anderen musikalischen Lagern oder auch Chartsplacierungen und regelmässige Airplays erreicht. Auf der anderen Seite liebt Green Man vor allem deepe Sounds mit elektronischem Einschlag wie in “Chainsmoker” und “I Go” und produziert Stücke im Stile von “Soundabenteuern”. Als DJ legt er dabei etwas härter auf, als er produziert. Zuletzt erschien im “Resident” Magazine in einstündiger Basswerk Mix von The Green Man, der einen schönen, gut hörbaren Querschnitt eines TGM DJ-Sets für zuhause lieferte. Einen weiteren 60 Minuten TGM Mix gab es im April letzten Jahres in D-Kays Radioshow auf FM4.

Nach seinem ersten Album “You Decide” (Combination Rec) arbeitet Green Man schon lange am zweiten Album, releast aber zuvor wieder eine 3fach CD-Compilation auf Basswerk (und ist dabei mit 4 Tracks vertreten – sowie einem weiteren unter dem Kahluah Funk Alias). Auf Basswerk 28 Vinyl gab es einen Green Man Drum & Bass Rmx von Shut Up & Dance’s Klassiker “The Green Man”, während auf Basswerk 27 N.phect & Dizplay TGM’s Klassiker “Damn Wire” neu aufgelegt haben. Die Flut von Demos für Basswerk führte zu der Gründung des digitalen Basswerk Files Sublabels (www.basswerk.de/www.myspace.com/basswerk).

As a teenager Friction linked up with ‘Stakka & K-Tee’, who were
heavily involved with Andy C’s Ram Records imprint. In February ’99 he
released his debut single ‘Critical Mass’ under the name Kinnetix and
until now he achieved numerous awards, like ‘Best Newcomer’ in the
‘Drum & Bass Arena’ Awards in 2002 or ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the
2003 ‘Knowledge Magazine Awards’ to name a few.
2009 Friction & K-tee’s vocal smasher ‘Fired Up’ on Hospital Records
received great support from the likes of Annie Mac and even Pete Tong
on BBC Radio 1. Friction & K-tee’s killer single ‘Set It Off’ dropped
on Shogun at the end of the year. Along with that came a nomination
for ‘Best DJ’ at the D&B Arena Awards and the new Shogun club
residency in their home town of Brighton.
2010 has been another non-stop roller-coaster ride for Friction with
gigs from London to Sydney to Korea and even Hawaii. Although the
schedule is fierce a Friction set never falters; whether he’s on two
or three decks, playing for two hours or four, people are rapidly
learning that, drum & bass fanatics or not, a night with Friction will
be one to remember.
